Most Frequently Asked Questions of the LLCC Bookstore
How much will my books cost?
The average student could expect to spend approximately $500-$750 per academic year as a full-time student for their textbooks and supplies.
When can I purchase books for the next semester?
Most books are available approximately one month before the beginning of the term. Used books are in greater abundance after buyback. Open sale dates will be posted on this web site each semester.
What if I have a scholarship, loan, grant, or some other kind of financial assistance that will pay for my book purchases?
We cannot encourage you enough to seek some type of assistance to help fund your college education. Please keep in contact with the office in charge of your assistance to learn the proper procedure for purchasing your books. Books may be purchased with a scholarship or financial assistance beginning ten days prior to the first day of classes and through the second week of classes at the main bookstore or at any of the regional centers. Unfortunately, we cannot accept financial aid payments of any kind over the web.
How can I pay for my books? Do you offer a deferment plan?
The LLCC Bookstore does have several ways to pay for your books and supplies but unfortunately, we do not offer deferments. We do accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover debit and credit cards, as well as checks and gift certificates. Cash is always welcome! (Of course, web orders must use credit or debit cards.)
How will I know which books to purchase?
When you click on "Textbooks" on this website, it will ask for your class and section numbers. Refer to your class schedule for this information. Once selected, a screen will appear listing all of the required and optional books for that class.
If you come into the Bookstore, bring your schedule. All of our books are displayed on the shelves alphabetically by course and number (example: ACC 103). Find the shelf tag that corresponds to your course and section, read the list of books the instructor requires for that course, and then find the book(s) on the shelf. If the book is listed as "optional", we encourage you to go to class first and check with your instructor. You must purchase all of your books before midterm. At midterm the bookstore returns unsold books to the publishers and starts the process for setting the shelves for the next semester. Don't worry! There are plenty of friendly assistants in the bookstore ready and willing to help you find the correct books.
What if I drop a class, can I get my money back for the books?
Each time you purchase books at the beginning of the semester, you will be given a receipt attached to an information sheet stating the refund policy for our bookstore. Please retain both your receipt and the information sheet for reference. You never know when your situation may change resulting in the need to return a book.
Remember: Receipts are required for returns. No receipt...no refund!
When are confirmations sent out?
Order confirmations are sent to you automatically via email when your order is placed. You will receive an additional email confirmation when you order has been shipped.
How are orders shipped?
The LLCC Bookstore ships orders via FedEx Ground only.
When can I expect my order?
Orders are processed Monday through Friday from 8am till 5pm. Please allow 24 hours for processing and 2-6 days for shipping.
